Couriers like DHL and FedEx calculate their prices using this volumetric weight. However, if the actual weight exceeds the volumetric weight, the shipping price is based on the actual weight.
In this case, the volumetric weight is higher than the actual weight, so the shipping fees are based on the volumetric weight of 2.54 kg.
It appears that you are using UPS for shipping from Germany to Japan, which is the most economical option we can offer from this warehouse, considering the weight of 2.17 kg and dimensions of 35x33x11 cm.

Unclear information on the website involving your "locked prices". I had sent my item to you after locking a price for "30days". I contacted a member of your staff to ask why I couldn't use my locked price to send my item. To which she was initally very responsive and told me she would email me back. I ended up just sending my package using the cheapest option because it took so long for forward2me to get back to me. I love your service. It has allowed me access to items from Europe very easily but I think your website it unclear and leads people to underestimating the cost of shipping.

Shipping rates are way too expensive! There is no budget option available, just premium courier services, so for forwarding a simple cup (500g) it cost 42£ from UK to Switzerland. I forwarded this issue but no response was received. Because of this, I would not recommend to use forward2me.
I was also forced to repack the shipment (at extra cost, of course), despite it arriving in fully protected condition from the original seller - why?
I talked to support about it, but there were constant changes to who was responsible and thus it didn't lead to a solution. I did get a refund for the repacking fee later, so in the end this was resolved.
Overall disappointed. It's not the solution I was looking for due to the unreasonably high cost.

It took about two weeks to forward a parcel. Somebody marked in as dangerous (without any reason), and manager on your side all this time was "trying to get documentation from manufacturer". I assume, she just put this aside, until I begin to send a lot of annoyed messages.
Anyway, I took two weeks and a lot of my time, attention and meaningless correspondence about "dangerous" items.
For this time looks like poor service.

I’m in the US and have used the UK address for them on at least 8 occasions. They have never failed me. Process is reasonably fast. Only thing I would recommend is that the interface they use for customers to ship orders, be updated. It seems outdated and it’s confusing.

Lots of our customers use our service to purchase multiple orders from different retailers therefore we offer a 30 day free storage period at our warehouse to enable customers to collate their parcels and ship them in one go.
There are two options for shipping multiple packages, first of all you could choose our combine and repack service. This service is offered when we repack and combine orders together into as least boxes as possible so our customer obtains the maximum value for shipping. For this service we charge £2 per package which is added to your final shipping invoice.

Alternatively, if you feel that we would be unable to reduce the size of the parcels to make the combine and repack fee cost effective for you, we can offer a multi-piece shipment for some of our courier services.
Here you would just choose up to 15 packages to be added to your shipment and we would ship them out as multi-pieces under the same shipment number. This service is more cost effective than shipping the goods in separate shipments.
For this service the boxes would be shipped out together however not repacked and are dispatched in the same boxes they have arrived in, of course we would ensure that they are safe and secure for international transit. For this service there is no additional charge.

Helpful customer service who were able to provide multiple shipping quotes based on various box dimensions. They also advised on how to organize a multi-box shipment. The UK shipping address worked perfectly when ordering from a UK-only vendor. Boxes were opened and resealed well, and arrived in good shape.

The cost of shipping is generally calculated by the amount of space that your shipment occupies, rather than the actual weight. This is called the volumetric weight. All couriers (examples: DHL ) use the volumetric weight to calculate their shipping prices. However, if the actual weight is more than this volumetric weight then the shipping price is calculated using this actual weight.
I see on this occasion the volumetric weight 5.92 kg is higher than the actual weight 4.58 kg so the shipping fees are calculated on the higher volumetric weight.

Usually quick turn around for my packages to be forwarded. Communication with good and prompt. I have had delays a few times and packages cost mord in shipping but over goid service from everyone I have communicated with.

I've used the service three times to forward items from UK storage to my address in Brazil, and the experience it was always fast and efficient. I prefer to use DHL as a courier. The packages were carefully packed, and whenever I needed support or had questions, they responded quickly and accurately. I highly recommend it.

I have been a regular customer for years. And Forward2Me was always my go to choice. However the shipping prices are so outrageous right now that I can not recommend ever using the site. There are sites that will do the same shipment 5 to 10 times cheaper than Forward2Me
