Prime Early Access Sale 2022
No, you're not experiencing déjà vu. We are, indeed, having a second Prime Day in 2022. Well, sort of. By now, you've probably already heard that Amazon has announced it will be hosting a sale similar to Prime Day in October. So here's all you need to know about the shopping event.
When Is October Prime Day 2022?
The Amazon Prime Early Access Sale is taking place on October 11 - 12, 2022. During the 48-hour sale, Prime members will be able to take advantage of hundreds of thousands of deals across all top Amazon categories. Typically, these include consumer electronics, fashion, beauty and wellness, home and kitchen, toys, pet supplies, and Amazon devices.
This is the second consecutive year to see Amazon hold an October shopping event. Last year, we had the Epic Daily Deals that made the entire month of October feel like Black Friday. This year, however, the October event will last for only two days and feature lightning deals, so it's more like the Prime Day we had in July.
The Top Deals During Prime Early Access Sale 2022
The second Prime Day for 2022, as the event has become popular, is expected to kick off the holiday shopping as most people have pointed out that mid-inflation, they will be buying presents for friends and family during pre-Black Friday sales. So, for this year's October sale we can expect to see impressive discounts on products that are typically in demand during the holiday season, such as toys, electronics, beauty, and fashion.
If you're not ready with your gift shopping list yet, you can draw some inspiration from the 100 most popular gifts for 2022 list that Amazon will release, with all items on it being on sale at some point during the two-day savings event. And if you want to enjoy Spooktober first, you will also find lots of Halloween items on sale.
During the various Amazon sales, the best deals are limited time offers called lightning deals. When you see a lightning deal you like, you need to act fast as it will end when the promotion period is over or the item sells out, whichever occurs first. Although you can come across numerous lightning deals throughout the site and on the event page, it's easier to narrow your search by going to the Today's Deals section. Keep in mind that when you add a lightning deal item to your cart, you have 15 minutes to complete the order before the item's discount expires.
How to take advantage of Prime Early Access Sale
If you've never participated in a Prime event so far, here are some pointers that will help you make the most of your shopping.
- The discounts during Prime Early Access Sale are available only to Prime members, so if you don't already have Prime membership, now is a good time to start your 30-day free trial that will last you throughout the Black Friday offers.
- Download the Amazon app on your phone and allow notifications so that you'll get pinged when a deal you're interested in goes live.
- Even if you're buying an item from a lightning deal, you sitll have 15 minutes to go through with the purchase, which is plenty of time to quickly look up and compare prices using a price tracking site.
- Prime Early Access Sale, as all other Amazon events, prompts other big online retailers to launch their own savings events, usually ahead of the Amazon sale, so it's a good idea to look around for early "anti-Prime" deals at other online stores.
