Your package is on hold because our processing team believes it may contain something we're not able to ship internationally. Here's what this covers and what to do next.
What This Hold Means
This status is applied when a package appears to contain prohibited or illegal goods — items we can't forward under our Terms of Trade, or that are banned by customs authorities or our courier partners. Common examples include:
- Illegal drugs or controlled substances
- Weapons, such as firearms and crossbows
- Other goods on our prohibited items list
You can check what we can and can't ship in Prohibited Items and Restricted Items.
What to Do Next
- If you think your item was flagged in error, contact our Customer Experience team. Some goods are restricted rather than banned, which means they may be shippable with the right documentation or handling, depending on your destination.
- If the item is prohibited, we're unable to ship it. Our team will talk you through your options, which may include returning or disposing of the item.
We apply these checks to comply with shipping regulations and safety standards, and to keep other packages moving smoothly.
Other Reasons a Package Might Be on Hold
A package can also be held for reasons unrelated to prohibited items:
- Dual-use items — goods with both civilian and military applications, which may be restricted or need extra checks. See Dual-Use Items.
- Missing manufacturer label — some items are held until proper labeling is provided.
If you're seeing one of these instead, the hold reason shown on your package will say so.
If you have further questions, please contact our Customer Experience team.
