Package Marked as Dual-Use

1 min read

Dual-use goods are products, software, and technologies designed for civilian use that can also be repurposed for military, intelligence, or destructive applications. Because they can be weaponized or used to suppress human rights, their international trade is heavily regulated by export controls.

These require export licensing that we're not able to arrange, so we can't forward them internationally.

If your package has been marked as dual-use, it means it falls into this regulated category and we're unable to forward it internationally.

Examples of Dual-Use Goods

These can include:

  • GPS and satellite technology;
  • certain drones;
  • night-vision and thermal-imaging equipment;
  • specific ball bearings and precision aluminum components;
  • chemical, biological, or nuclear-related tools and technology.

Please note: This is not an exhaustive list. Export control regulations change regularly, and many products that look like ordinary commercial items can still be classified as dual-use and require licenses or additional compliance checks before export. If you're unsure whether an item may be affected, it's best to check with us before you order.

Your Options If Your Package Has Been Flagged as Dual-Use?

If we can't forward your item internationally, you can choose to:

  • Return the goods to the retailer — free of charge.
  • Have the items disposed of — free of charge.
  • Have the item delivered to a local address within the warehouse's own country. Because the goods aren't leaving the country, this doesn't involve export, so the export controls that prevent international forwarding don't apply.
