Forward2 Me answered my e-mailed questions promptly and got my car parts from Germany to Texas quickly. My advice is always use them unless you don’t mind waiting for a month or more like I am doing now with a different shipment.

Easy to handle, physical mail is pretty much handled like email in that you have an "inbox" overview on everything that is ready to ship etc. - then choose whichever way you want to ship. Very neat!

I have used the service four times now to buy small hobby parts from suppliers in Germany. They provide a reliable drop box and mail forwarding service. For some reason the Germans are non too keen to mail direct outside of German speaking Europe.

I am sorry you feel dissatisfied with our services.
I have looked into your shipping costs in more detail and I can see that the chargeable weight of your 3 packages as a multi piece shipment was 2.50 kg, this was the greater overall weight of your 3 packages and this would have been the weight used to calculate the shipping costs with the courier rather than overall actual weight 0.71 kg. The greater chargeable weight of your 3 packages gave you a total shipping price of £31.48 with DHL Economy road service. Volumetric weight, sometimes referred to as dimensional weight, is a measure used by couriers like DHL and UPS use to set the price of shipping items which are large in volume but relatively light in weight. If the volume is greater than the actual weight of the goods in a package this is the weight that would be used to determine the final shipping price.
I believe you were provided with the best shipping service option for your packages as a multi piece shipment with DHL Economy road service because if you had chosen to consolidate all 3 packages together as one piece to then access the UPS Standard Single road service at £30.89 this would not have saved you any further costs on the original shipping prices for either UPS Standard Single or DHL Economy road service and you would have also had additional repack charges of £2.00 per package to pay on top of the base shipping price. If you were planning on shipping your 3 packages through UPS standard single road service you would have needed to consolidate your 3 packages together to create one package because UPS Standard Single is a single package only service but by doing this you would have ended up increasing your shipping costs unnecessarily by an additional £6.00 due to repack charges.
Our shipping rates are reviewed each year, with each of the courier services, to make them as cost effective as possible based on the volume of packages that we receive to each specific warehouse and we do also apply our own service charge to the overall courier shipping prices as a percentage.
Please be aware that it is a forwarding service that you are paying for through our company- you are not just paying for the shipping with the couriers.

I have looked into this issue in more detail for you and I can see that the original chargeable weight of your 3 car part packages prior to repacking was 40.20 kg, which was the greater overall weight of your 3 packages and this would have been the weight used to calculate the shipping costs with the courier rather than overall actual weight 32.51 kg. The greater chargeable weight of your 3 packages gave you a total shipping price between £342.21 with UPS and £343.22. Volumetric weight, sometimes referred to as dimensional weight, is a measure used by couriers like DHL and UPS use to set the price of shipping items which are large in volume but relatively light in weight. If the volume is greater than the actual weight of the goods in a package this is the weight that would be used to determine the final shipping price.
Once your goods were repacked this did reduce the overall chargeable weight but only by 2.10 kg and by repacking your 3 packages into 2 pieces this did save you an overall £30 on the original UPS shipping price and £18 on the original DHL Express shipping price, however, the new courier shipping prices would have been excluding our additional combine and repack charges of £2 per package, totalling £8.00, which gave you the total shipping price of £325.18 but your new final shipping cost was still £18.04 less than what you would have originally paid if you had shipped all 3 car part packages as a multi piece without consolidating.

I have never used a service like this before so was nervous that my package would be lost. However everything went smoothly, I paid for DHL tracked shipping and forward2me sent emails when everything was dispatched etc. The only downside was paying for customs duties afterwards but of course this has nothing to do with the great service that forward2me provided.
