Your forward2me address is a forwarding address for goods you buy online. Most shopping is completely fine, but some uses are restricted, and some items need extra checks before we can forward them. This article explains what's allowed, what isn't, and what needs verification first.
What your address is for
Your forward2me address is for receiving parcels from retailers and forwarding them to you. That covers the vast majority of online shopping — clothing, electronics, cosmetics, homeware, and so on, subject to our prohibited and restricted items rules.
What you can't use it for
Your forward2me address is not a residential or business address, so it can't be used for:
- Registering a company or business — it isn't a registered office or trading address.
- Applying for financial products — bank accounts, credit cards, loans, or similar, where a personal residential address is required.
- Official residential registration — anything that requires proof of a home address (electoral registration, residency applications, and similar).
- Cash on delivery (COD) — we can't accept or pay for COD shipments on your behalf. Parcels must be paid for in full before they're sent to us.
Using the address for these purposes can cause problems with the organizations involved and may affect your account with us.
Items that need extra verification
Some items aren't universally banned, but they are subject to additional checks and may be restricted depending on the circumstances. If you're planning to have any of these forwarded, it's best to contact our Customer Experience team first, as they may not be able to be processed in every case.
Identity documents, legal documents, government correspondence, and financial documents. These may be able to be forwarded, but only following customer verification, compliance checks for your destination country, and shipment via an approved service (typically DHL Express). Because of these requirements, please check with us before having them sent to your address.
Payment cards and SIM cards. These aren't prohibited in all cases, but how they arrive matters. The key factor is whether the item is sent as a tracked or untracked shipment:
- Tracked card or SIM shipments may be processed following identity verification.
- Untracked items of this kind may not be able to be processed, for security reasons.
If you're expecting a payment card or SIM, contact us in advance so we can advise on the safest way to have it sent.
