Package Showing In Review

2 min read

"In Review" means your package has arrived and our system has scanned it. This is a normal, automated part of our process — most packages pass through it without any action needed from you.

The Two Stages of Parcel Processing

  1. Initial scan (In Review): your package is checked in. You can see the label photo and weight, but the box stays sealed.
  2. Physical processing: a team member opens the box, inspects the contents, and completes the final scan.

What Happens During "In Review"

When your package is first scanned at the warehouse, it's processed by our OCR (Optical Character Recognition) system, which carries out essential initial stages of parcel processing:

  • Reading the label: the tracking number and your Unique ID are read from the label and linked to your account.
  • Capturing details: sender, courier, tracking number, dimensions, and weight are recorded, and a label photo is usually added to your account.
  • Preparing customs paperwork: item descriptions and values are taken from the retailer's label or your uploaded invoice.
  • Running a safety check: the package is screened against our prohibited and restricted items lists to flag issues early.

Uploading your purchase invoice helps this process go uninterrupted. It's recommended for all warehouses and mandatory for our US and Guernsey warehouses.

Upload it as soon as possible — ideally before your package arrives — and we'll match it to the physical items during the final scan. This helps your package avoid getting held at "Waiting for Information" later.

See How to upload your invoice for the steps.

Why Your Package May Still Show "In Review" After 24 Hours

Most packages clear review within 24 hours. If yours has been in this status longer, it's usually one of these reasons:

  • The label couldn't be read — if it's smudged, torn, or missing your Unique ID, a team member has to verify and enter the details manually.
  • No invoice uploaded (required at our US and Guernsey warehouses) — review can't be completed until a valid purchase invoice is uploaded.
  • Possible damage — if the package looks damaged, review is paused so we can document it and notify you before continuing.
  • Possible restricted or dangerous goods — if something is flagged, the package stays in review for a manual safety check by our specialist team.

What to Do After the Initial 24 Hours

First, check your account and email (including spam) for any message from us asking for an invoice or more information — review can't finish until we have what we've asked for.

If none of these apply, contact our Customer Experience team with your package details and we'll look into it.

Keep in mind that during busy periods, reviews may take longer than usual.

How to Prevent Delays in Processing

Upload your purchase invoice as soon as you can — ideally before your package arrives. It's the single best way to keep your package moving through review without delays.

Once physical inspection is complete, we'll email you to confirm your package is Ready for Shipping.
