Very bad experience! I ordered a backpack ( 35 £ ) from a store in the uk and paid for it to be sent to forwardtome, also in the uk (20 £). That took 2 days. Then I had to pay 50 £ for it to ship from uk to iceland which is not far away, im in europe and just across the sea. One would think that such a hefty sum would include domestic shipping but oh no I had to pay 35 £ extra upon arrival.
When I order from independant stores like etsy usa or from big companies like amazon.co.uk I usually pay 16-30 £ for shipping to iceland. Amazon does not let you pay domestic shipping instead. Basically I had to pay additional 105 £ for a small 35 £ backpack...
Thats not all. They advertise fast service but I got my package after 27 days!!!! 22 of those days it was stuck in the uk. I haver never in my life had to wait so long, not even regarding packages from china. They can not blame covid or the ukraine war since I ordered other packages from usa and uk at the same time and the usa package took 2 weeks and the uk one took a week, both very standard time.
Btw forwardtome sent me a message on this same review on trustpilot asking for my info to assist. Don't bother sending it again because what for ? You know what you are doing and its not like im going to get my money back.

I have now be able to check your account and communication history with our services.
I can see you were querying the shipping costs and service options available to you with one of my agents. I believe you wanted to send your 2 backpacks with the untracked Royal Mail Budget service but this courier option was not showing for your package from your account when you clicked 'Ship Now'.
I must make you aware that the untracked Royal Mail budget service is for a package with a weight of less than 2 kg, overall dimensions of less than 90 cm and a value under £20. Unfortunately the stated package limitations and requirements for the untracked shipping option are not specified by us as a forwarding service, these are specified by the courier service Royal Mail and because your package, conta8inbign the 2 backpacks, was over 90 cm in dimensions overall and over the maximum value of £20.00 this is the reason why you were not given the untracked shipping service option for your package. We do advise customers to always send their goods through one of our available tracked services to ensure the stated movement and location of their packages through the shipping network. The Royal Mail budget service, although is a cheaper shipping option, is classed as a standard untracked postal service, there would be no way of locating your package once it leaves our facility, the delivery timeframe can take up to 6 weeks to be completed and there is no cover for loss or damage of your package through this Royal Mail service.
We have done some calculations on your original package and we do feel that you were offered the most cost effective courier service for your package with the fully tracked TNT Economy service. The chargeable weight of your package was being based on the volumetric weight (size of the package) for the shipping prices with the courier services and if you had chosen to send your package from a combine and repack service to attempt to make the size of the backpacks in the package smaller and reduce the overall dimensions of the package this would have not altered the shipping costs with the available tracked courier services much more, TNT Economy service would have still been the more cost effective courier service option for your package and you would have ended up paying an additional £2.00 repack fee unnecessarily.
Our shipping rates are reviewed each year, with each of the courier services, to make them as cost effective as possible based on the volume of packages that we receive and we do also apply our service charge to the overall shipping prices, with the couriers, as a percentage. Please be aware that it is a service that you are paying for through our company as well as shipping.
All courier transit times stated on our website can only be seen as an estimate due to transit times being subject to any unavoidable transit or connection delays with the couriers or local customs clearance. However I have looked at the tracking link for your shipment with the TNT Economy service and I can clearly see your package was delayed in the network for 3 weeks. I cannot see that any of the delays were linked to customs clearance delays which is usually the main reasons for shipments taking longer to move onto delivery in the network especially if there is a backlog for the couriers at destination.
We apologize for any frustration and inconveninece this long delay with your shipment has caused you.
I have immediately submitted a query to TNT, in relation to the continuous delays for your shipment, to try to determine the cause and to also evaluate if it is possible for us to raise a claim with the courier for the 3 week delay, as the original shipper, and try to source some compensation for you.
I will be back in touch with you via direct email to reiterate what has been discussed with you in from this review and to further update you on the status of the query I have open with TNT in relation to your shipment as soon as I have received a response from the courier.

Please note that all of our shipping rates are reviewed each year, with each of the courier services, to make them as cost effective as possible based on the volume of packages that we receive.
I can see that you chose to send your package with UPS Express service due to this being the most cost effective courier option, at the time of shipping, based on the greater chargeable weight of your package for shipping which. in your case, had been based on the volumetric weight of the package (size of the package) rather than the actual weight of the goods.
If you had chosen to submit a combine and repack request for your package, containing the pair of shoes, it may have been possible for our repack team to reduce the original dimensions of the box containing the pair of shoes or simply allocated the contents to a smaller box. However, please note that, it is more difficult to fully reduce the overall chargeable weight or volume of packages containing shoes if the original shoes boxes are to be retained. Shoe boxes can cause a lot of unnecessary excess space within a package and does mean that the overall size of package that is containing shoes in shoe boxes cannot always be successfully reduced.
Volumetric Weight, sometimes referred to as dimensional weight, is a measure used by couriers like DHL and UPS to set the price of shipping items which are large in volume but relatively light in weight. In a case like this, Volumetric Weight is what determines the price of the shipping service. Volumetric Weight is calculated differently by service. Combine and repacking may be a better option dependent on the size of the packaging and if there is a lot of room for it to be decreased as this will mean the volumetric weight has been reduced. Where the Chargeable Weight has been determined by the Volumetric Weight it is a good idea to combine and repack your items into fewer or smaller packages to reduce costs and eliminate the risk of individual boxes going missing. We do provide information to assist you in making this decision. when you select 'Combine and Repack' option from your account.

Let this be a warning to anyone contemplating using this service. I sent a package of John Lewis towels to France. The fees from this company were over £90. Then I received an invoice for taxes etc from Fedex for 110 Euros. This effectively doubled the cost of the towels to around £400. Thank you Boris Johnson for this farce.How can British industry hope to survive import and export duties like these?

I am sorry that you feel dissatisfied with our services and that you have discrepancies with the additional charges for your shipment.
I have checked the details of your shipment through our service and I can see that you chose to ship your 3 packages as a multi piece with FedEx Economy service instead of consolidating your goods . FedEx Economy was one of the more higher cost shipping service rates that would have been offered to you at the time of shipping.
DHL Economy service would have been almost £20.00 cheaper for the shipping costs of your 3 packages as a multi piece shipment. Also I can see that the chargeable weight for the shipping prices you were provided at the time for your 3 packages with FedEx Economy would have been based on the total volumetric weight (size of the 3 packages) containing your goods rather (25.02 kg) than the actual combined total weight of the goods in the package (9.31 kg). If you had considered using our Combine and Repack services to have all 3 packages consolidated together as one piece this could have potentially reduced the overall chargeable weight of your shipment by approximately 14.13 kg which would have reduced your overall shipping costs with FedEx Economy by at least £20.00.
All shipments are dispatched through our services as 'Delivered Duty Unpaid' with all the couriers and this information is clearly stated from the terms of trade pages on our website.
We don't allow destination duties and taxes to be paid to us in advance, within the shipping costs, because we do not yet have the approved accreditation to carry out our own customs clearance and calculate the duties and taxes owing for shipments in advance.
It is the courier agencies, such as Fed Ex, DHL and UPS, who have and use their own customs clearance departments to calculate the import taxes and duties owing for our customers shipments from UK warehouse and the additional import duties and taxes owing for a shipment to the destination country would be charged as a separate fee by the relevant courier service prior to delivery.
Unfortunately, local import duties and VAT calculated by your local customs department and the couriers is beyond our control and any discrepancies in the total costs cannot be reimbursed by us through our service. We are required to show the total shipping costs paid on the commercial invoice. All courier services we use clear shipments through their own customs clearance departments, the clearance team need to be able to access the original shipping price paid to calculate the taxes against and to ensure the couriers do not use default shipping costs. We can remove the courier shipping costs from the commercial invoices by request from our customers, and this option can also be amended yourself by going to your 'Profile' section and 'Addresses'. When you click into your 'Shipping Addresses' there is a check box option at the bottom 'Include shipping price on commercial invoice'. However, removing this option may mean the couriers will use a default shipping price to calculate the duties and taxes owing which usually calculates higher in value than the actual shipping costs paid.
Please also be aware that as of 1st July 2021 the import VAT free buffer for shipments into the EU with a total declared value of £15.00/€22 or less no longer applies and all imports are now subject to EU VAT. Local duties and taxes are calculated from the commercial declared value of the goods in the shipment, all purchase values for your goods will have been inputted and saved to the packages by yourself from your account prior to shipping, and destination duties and taxes are also calculated on the courier freight costs.
If your discrepancy is in relation to the total calculation of the import duties and taxes for your shipment this would need to be resolved from destination with FedEx.
We apologize for any inconvenience or frustration this matter may be causing you.
