The cost of shipping is generally calculated by the amount of space that your shipment occupies, rather than the actual weight. This is called the volumetric weight. All couriers (examples: DHL and FedEx) use the volumetric weight to calculate their shipping prices. However, if the actual weight is more than this volumetric weight then the shipping price is calculated using this actual weight.
I see on this occasion the volumetric weight is higher than the actual weight so the shipping fees are calculated on the higher volumetric weight.

I used this service for an Etsy purchase. I'm buying a lot of things for my upcoming wedding and I saw some items on Etsy that only shipped to the UK. I looked up ways to ship to the US, and foward2me looked like the safest bet. Going into it I was a bit hesitant, just because my purchases were so big. But, their customer service team did a great job assuring me that the packages were in safe hands. It only took about 5-6 days to receive my package and that's including shipping from retailer to my UK address. A little pricey but would definitely use again.

Gave me an inaccurate forwarding estimate cost to ship a package from Japan to the US, which ended up costing me forty extra dollars.
Forward2Me had labelled Fedex and UPS as usable services for my forwarding in the estimate I had made before making my purchase, however as soon as my package made it to their warehouse, conveniently the more expensive DHL was now the only option I could pick for shipping to my location, despite the previous estimate saying otherwise. With little choice but to use DHL at that point or simply lose the item I ordered forever or having to pay warehouse storage fees with them, I had the item shipped anyway.
With that said, my package did arrive in a timely and safe manner, nor was it lost in their warehouse. The website itself was easy to use and understand, and they have several options on countries to ship to.
I would be much more careful using them in the future due to the estimate issue previously mentioned, but if cost isn't an issue as it was in my case, the actual service quality and usability isn't bad at all.

the service its alright , but not that happy with it cuz, i order 2 package (same thing in both) 40pounds each , one to uk adress and one to uk tax free , the on ordered to uk transport was 22pounds+15 euro tax when it gets to my country , the one tax free was 55 pounds transport + 30 euros tax due to high price to transport , i didnt undersant why same fedex took so much on that adress and why name of adress is tax free if its not tax free, Update: they told me this : "

In general the service is really good but the warehouse in the USA is a complete mess, they have lost some of my items 3 times, compared to the UK service the USA one takes weeks to update a received package or they just not simply update it unless you request it. About the invoices: sometimes they just add a package in review (when has arrived to the warehouse) to an existing one in ready to ship.
At least the customer service there is helpful.
I'll keep using it for UK stuff but I'm completely done with the USA warehouse.

The registration process on the website was easy and the navigation also. The integrated tools to calculate cost estimations are very helpful and quite precise and this adds transparency to the whole process. I am your customer for long number of years. Recently I noticed big drop in service level and price of shipping. The new process of logging in shipments is very bad and the shipping options and cost is way out of reasonable. The whole thing came as surprise to me in the last transaction. I thought I would be saving going through your service but unfortunately it turned to be a big loss.

Our updated invoice uploading system is designed to streamline the order fulfillment process and ensure accuracy. By filling out the details of your expected order and uploading a copy of the matching order confirmation from your account, we aim to automate the extraction of data from the invoice. This helps us prepare the contents of the package in advance, ensuring that everything is ready to go as soon as the physical order arrives at our warehouse from the retailer.
With regards to the shipping cost, we are now offering F2ME Cross Border services, this is the replacement of SMSA.

Our updated invoice uploading system is designed to streamline the order fulfillment process and ensure accuracy. By filling out the details of your expected order and uploading a copy of the matching order confirmation from your account, we aim to automate the extraction of data from the invoice. This helps us prepare the contents of the package in advance, ensuring that everything is ready to go as soon as the physical order arrives at our warehouse from the retailer.
With regards to the shipping cost, we are now offering F2ME Cross Border services, this is the replacement of SMSA.

Customer service was great, they answered every query promptly, the process was easy and my product was delivered much quicker than I was expecting. But the delivery fees were too much - it cost the same as the product I had bought, so won't use again unless it's absolutely needed.

I have checked you shipped with DHL express with actual weight of 1.79 kg and volumetric weight of 2.92 kg. The cost of shipping is generally calculated by the amount of space that your shipment occupies, rather than the actual weight. This is called the volumetric weight. All couriers (examples: DHL and FedEx ) use the volumetric weight to calculate their shipping prices. However, if the actual weight is more than this volumetric weight then the shipping price is calculated using this actual weight. I see on this occasion the volumetric weight is higher than the actual weight so the shipping fees are calculated on the higher volumetric weight.
As you are shipping to Australia, GST (Goods and Services Tax) are included in our services when shipping. This means that a 10% GST is applied to all goods with a value of $1000 Australian dollars or less that are being shipped via our services. Additionally, a 10% GST is also applied to the shipping fee for the service we provided.
