Beating the winter cold
Monday, 16 January 2012
We may have had a relatively mild winter here so far, but some of our customers overseas clearly haven’t, if some of our recent shipments have been anything to judge by.
As you might expect, we’ve been sending hot water bottles and electric blankets all over the world, plus fleeces and thermals from Damart have been a favourite.
We know there’s a big Brit expat community in Malta, so the Dimplex fires we’ve sent out there were no surprise. And the climate in Slovenia’s much the same as ours, so we’re not surprised they have similar tastes in slippers…
But what’s more surprising is the shipment of quilts we’ve sent to Kazakhstan – it gets very cold over there so we’d expect it to be very easy to buy winter gear locally, yet it was interesting to see that some Kazakh customers still prefer to buy British.
